Apple Music Festival 2017 rumours: dates, lineup & how to get tickets

Apple Music Festival 2017 is expected to take place in London this month. Here are the rumoured dates & how to get tickets

Is Apple Music Festival happening in 2017? And if so, how do I get tickets?
In September 2017 we expect Apple to hold its Apple Music Festival - the rebranded version of its popular yearly iTunes Festival - but the company hasn't made any announcements yet. Last year the headliners and dates were released around 10 days before the start of the festival, so expect word soon (assuming the festival is going ahead this year, which we strongly expect to be the case).
Ahead of the official announcements, read on for all the rumours about Apple Music Festival 2017, including the lineup, dates, and how to get tickets.

Where will it be held?

Camden's Roundhouse venue has hosted the festival for the past eight years, so is overwhelming favourite to host it again.

Dates

Since 2012 the festival has been a September thing (with the exception of a spin-off event in Texas that happened in March 2014). In 2016 it lasted from 18-30 Sept.
We've been checking the Roundhouse's listings - which obviously don't mention Apple's festival yet, since there's been no official announcement - and it offers a few clues about when the event may take place. They've got a few gigs early in the month, and then a series of events themed around Tel Aviv and London from 8-10 Sept. Then there's a gap of 13 days, and then Life is Eazi Culture Festival on 23 Sept.
That's a suspiciously convenient gap, and a longer gap than the venue has any time in October or November. So we predict that Apple Music Festival 2017 will take place from 11-22 Sept (approximately).

How to watch Apple Music Festival online

Obviously, the best way to watch Apple Music Festival is to get tickets and watch it in person - we discuss how to get tickets in the next section. But if you can't get tickets, it's still possible to watch the concerts remotely.
"The live performances will be made available live and on demand to Apple Music members in 100 countries on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, Apple TV and Android phones," said Apple.

How to get tickets

Apple tries to limit tickets to UK residents only. In the past you've had to apply for tickets through iTunes so it's preferable to have a UK Apple ID and iTunes account.
In previous years, you have to apply for tickets to specific gigs via an online ballot. If you're lucky and you are selected, you then pay for your ticket.
Apple has said: "Fans based in the UK can apply to win tickets by entering prize draws on Apple Music, as well as through select media partners."
Tickets will be non-refundable and very limited in number. In previous years the London Evening Standard has run competitions to win tickets, so be on the lookout for London-based offers like this if you're unsuccessful in the official ballot.
You can only apply for free tickets to the Festival if you're an Apple Music subscriber. If you're not, you'll have to sign up to the service in order to be in with a chance of going.
Signing up to Apple Music is also necessary in order to watch the shows online.

" This problem has to be addressed quickly, for their sake as well as for us ," another local woman said.  Even aid workers don't feel safe at the camp which has been dubbed a " humanitarian slum ." Around 800 migrants storm fences to enter Spanish enclave in Africa

Around 800 migrants stormed border fences separating Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta from Morocco to get into Europe, police said Thursday. The Guardia Civil said 602 migrants made it onto Spanish soil in a massive assault on high, barbed-wire fences shortly after dawn. They also threw stones at police vehicles, breaking windows, and hurled makeshift flamethrowers at police officers.                       The police statement said 16 migrants were taken to the hospital, while five of 15 police hurt were also hospitalized. Concerns rise for refugees who could face violence if Italian coastguard return them to Libya

Concerns are rising for the thousands of refugees and migrants who risk their lives at sea to get to Europe, following Italy's decision to take those rescued off the coast of Libya back to the country they are fleeing in future. Aid organisations are said to be "horrified" at the idea of taking rescued refugees back to their home country at a time when revelations of the violent beatings and torture they could face on their return are emerging. One Oxfam worker, Stefano Dimarco, said: "In Libya there are no human rights there is we cannot talk about a normal situation."
